New Spaces ... New Solutions
Moving is an excellent time to reassess your belongings and make a significant purge. It can also pose some challenges. Moving into a new space often means finding new storage solutions for closets and drawers and the options may feel overwhelming.
This client had lots of help from family members to get boxes unpacked. While getting the boxes unloaded was very helpful, they didn’t quite know what to do with this bathroom closet to make it function well. The shelves were really deep and the homeowner needed easy access to items on a daily basis.
First step was to pull everything out, purge unused/unwanted items, and sort like items together. Once we had a good sense of what needed to be stored, we created a space plan based on frequency of use of each category and reused bins she already had that worked well in the space. While the process takes time, there is now a system in place that can be easily maintained by the homeowner after I leave.
