Primary Closet Re-do

Closets are the undergarments of our house … they hold everything in place.

Closets are spaces we deal with every day, yet they can be so dysfunctional that they cause us stress every time we open the door to retrieve something we need. And, when a closet is dysfunctional, disorganization and clutter tends to spill out to the spaces near the closet like oozing lava because it can become too hard to put things away.

This lovely family had a nice, big bedroom closet (which was a huge asset to start with!). However, they didn’t have the the functionality they needed for properly storing their clothing and maintaining organization. They tried to add a partial closet system but it never worked as well as they hoped it would.

After assessing their needs, learning their habits, and discussing the resources they were willing to put toward the solution, they decided that it was best to start over with a new closet system. We took measurements, designed a new system to meet their needs, and went to work emptying, sorting, and culling the closet contents while also dismantling the old closet system. Once the new system was installed, the extra storage space allowed them to empty a dresser in their bedroom into the closet, giving them a more open feel in their sleeping space. They couldn’t be more pleased with the look and functionality.
